T-Pain – Oblivion (Album Review)

You know what T-Pain’s comeback story reminds me of? That one baller that dominated the game for 3 years, got traded to a bad team, disappeared from the face of the earth, only to reemerge as a very solid player on a championship caliber team. Now I’m not saying T-Pain is winning anything major right now, but these last 1-2 years he has been dropping some pretty quality music for us. With that being said, I think T-Pain deserves his new album ‘Oblivion’ to at least get a look from hip hop listeners everywhere. (more…)

CyHi The Prynce – No Dope On Sundays (Album Review)

AA7FB5CD-65B6-47A2-B6F9-560DAA04F8C3.jpeg

Let’s be real for a minute — Kanye and the great people at G.O.O.D. music hoarded CyHi’s s–t for years! For him to see all these other artists under the label release 2 – 3 albums before he even released his debut is atrocious to me! Here’s the silver lining though: For a gritty MC like CyHi, that boiling frustration probably translates to better music, which means his true fans might get something that would’ve been better than a premature release when he was first coming out. Does that soliloquy I just gave excite you for this debut album ‘No Dope On Sundays?’ if not, before Sunday, do more dope and read it again. (more…)

Kahlil Cade – The Summer EP (Review & Stream)

You know what makes Kahlil Cade a great Hip Hop artist? I feel like Cade is an expert at creating rap music that is as intelligent as it is trill, and as personal as it is motivational. With his ‘The Summer’ EP, the Oakland based rapper delivers six new tracks that allow listeners to take an even deeper dive into his world, as he crams love, success, and everything in-between into this abbreviated EP. Darkside BayBay – The Last Straw (Album Review)

You can tell Darkside BayBay has had enough of the phoniness in hip hop, because in his music you can hear this kill-a-rapper approach on literally every bar he drops. As a rap enthusiast, I love that, because it shows this hunger that I think is missing in the game today. With that being said, Darkside’s ‘The Last Straw’ album promises to electrify with its explosive rap music. (more…)

Maroon 5 – Red Pill Blues (Album Review)

Why don’t we mention Maroon 5 as one of the best pop acts of all time? Since their emergence to the scene in 2002, the group has been able to consistently hammer home hits, showing great versatility when it comes to their artistry. With this being their sixth album, the group continues to expand on their sound, collaborating with some of the best in the game. Based off the first few singles I’ve heard thus far, I can see this as being one of their best albums to date, which is saying a lot considering their successful history. (more…)

Big K.R.I.T. – 4 Eva is A Mighty Long Time (Album Review)

Big K.R.I.T has always been this vivacious southern rapper to me, but I feel like he has added yet another layer of vivaciousness to his overall presentation as of late. Based off a few of his singles, I hear this guy that is a little more laid back in his approach, focusing more on the vibes of a song than the heavy-hitting bars he’s more than capable of delivering. With ‘4 Eva Is a Mighty Long Time’, I look forward to hearing this revamped version of K.R.I.T., with hopes that he can finally get the recognition that he deserves. (more…)

Majid Jordan – The Space Between (Album Review)

I’m sorry if I come across as a bit rude, but I find them Majid Jordan dudes to be a bit weird. I know some of ya’ll are going to come to their defense and argue that they are artistic, not weird, but between their album covers, their strange music videos, and their overall presentation, I beg to differ. With this new album called, ‘The Space Between’, these interesting artists have a chance to make me a believer in their movement, as they look to electrify listeners with their futuristic sounding R&B music. I was waiting on this album like I was waiting on my refund check guys!

Ty Dolla $ign can do it all when it comes to music, so when he releases a full length project like ‘Beach House 3’, it almost feels like a compilation album with various artists. With this being his third major project, I feel like his freshmen days are completely over, meaning you’re going to get to hear the LA artist go full-blown hit-maker from here on out. So  will Ty’s biggest release-to-date live up to the hefty expectations we all had for it? I’ll let you know down there… (more…)
