At the tender age of 46, Tech N9ne has not lost a single step yet. He is still able to break down beats as easy as ever, giving us his signature tongue twisting style on whatever type of production you give him. In his newest album “Planet,” Tech looks to continue his reign as the boss of strange music, delivering a body of work that is sure to be the most unique thing you heard this month.  (more…)

Carl Lovett – Ezekiel 33.3 (Mixtape Review)

Carl Lovett’s time is now, which is why the release of his new Mixtape titled, “Ezekiel 33.3,” is such a critical one for him. With his rapping and writing credits permeating through the Florida music scene throughout the years, Carl looks to put together a solid solo project that shows the world that he’s more than capable of putting out a body of work that can stack up nicely with the rest of the industry’s work. (more…)

Blac Youngsta – 2.23 (Album Review)

Blac Youngsta clearly doesn’t mind fitting into the stereotypes that comes with being a rapper: He’s loud, he’s reckless, and if you play with his money, he can become violent! Musically, Youngsta also follows a heedless approach, at times sounding even more outlandish than he does in real life. But hey, we are all too serious sometimes, so why not listen to something a little more lighthearted for once, right? (more…)

Vance Joy’s – Nation Of Two (Album Review)

James Keogh, better known by his stage name Vance Joy, became an international success from ‘Riptide’;  a multi-platinum single from his debut album. ‘Nation Of Two’ is the follow-up to Joy’s breakthrough debut album which was released in 2014. It’s been almost 4 years now, but it’s been hard to forget those sounds I heard on the tracks of his previous album. Vance is a very unique artist and his folk sound acts as a sensational souvenir to the ears. (more…)

Young Dolph – N****s Get Shot Everyday (Album Review)

Correct, N***as do get shot everyday, but Dolph seems to get shot more than every other n***a does. Maybe this galvanizes him? Maybe he brings out his best music when he goes through life threatening situations like the one he had in Los Angeles? He’s already a pretty passionate rapper, maybe giving him more riveting content to talk about only boosts his ability to tell stories? Whatever the case may be, I am excited for yet another chapter in Young Dolph’s journey — a journey that could’ve possibly came to an aburpt end back in September. (more…)

Tyga – Kyoto (Album Review)

Ya’ll like a singing Tyga? I thought a singing Tyga was actually alright in “1 on 1.” Apparently after a trip to Kyoto, Japan, Tyga was motivated to sing full time, a move that is very reminiscent to what Kanye did back in his “808 and Heartbreak” days. Why can’t the LA spitter also experiment a little? Why can’t he expand on his artistry like everyone else? I am all for hearing Tyga play crooner, I’m just not here for his struggle braids. (more…)

Nipsey Hussle – Victory Lap (Album Review)

The term “It’s been a long time coming” might be the biggest understatement in hip-hop history when it comes to Nipsey Hussle’s debut album. His name has been relevant in rap circles for years now, and to think that today, 2/16/2018, we finally get a chance to hear his first studio album is preposterous! With that being said, I anticipate Nipsey giving us something great here since he had us waiting for so long. (P.S, Nipsey is more than capable of making something great)  (more…)

Cozz – Effected (Album Review)

Throughout this year, I swore up and down that my guy Cozz had next. Well he finally gets his chance to shine, as his debut album “Effected” has finally dropped! With the backing of J.Cole, I expect a splash of greatness in it, and anticipate pretty damn good bars from the Dreamville up and comer. Enough speculating, it’s time to hear if he lives up to the expectations.
